Guarding for automated warehousing can be implemented remarkably economically when using the SATECH Guarding System from Procter Machine Guarding, the UK and Ireland distributor for this low-cost modular perimeter guarding system. Versatile and economical, Satech is popular for automated warehousing applications, as well as perimeter guarding in production environments.

SATECH guarding is available in a choice of post and panel specifications to suit different applications and budgets. For each system specification, there is an extensive choice of hinged, sliding and rise-and-fall access gates. All SATECH systems are so easy and quick to install that customers can do it themselves or employ a contractor, or Procter offers a comprehensive installation service.

Procter Machine Guarding can additionally survey the warehouse, then design, manufacture and install bespoke mesh machine guards to complement the standard Satech products, and all in very short lead times. This is especially useful where guarding has to fit around conveyors or other equipment in the tight confines of an automated warehouse. Furthermore, Procter’s designers can visit the site during installation so that the guarding can be modified quickly if unexpected changes are found to be necessary. Depending on the customer’s requirements, Procter’s installation teams can also fit safety light curtains, safety mats, interlocks, cable ducting and other related hardware. All guarding is designed to conform to relevant British, European and International standards.

Procter Machine Guarding has considerable experience of installing Satech guarding for automated warehousing. Previous projects include 600m of perimeter guarding in Quinn Radiators’ state-of-the-art automated high-bay warehouse in Newport, South Wales. Another project involved installing 670m of guarding in a new automated warehouse that forms part of a national distribution centre developed and managed by Exel on behalf of Unilever UK Foods. As well as serving customers in the UK, Procter has also installed guarding for automated warehousing overseas.
