Guards

Fixed guards are a physical barrier that are permanently attached to a machine and cannot be moved whilst it is in use. They are typically used to enclose the point of operation, or any other hazards that the operator does not need to interact with. This ensures the machine is safer and easier to use.

A Safe factory is
a productive one

Procter bespoke fixed machine guards are renowned for their quality, effectiveness and attention to detail.

Our machine guarding design experts have over 250 years of industry experience between them, as well as a thorough knowledge of current machine safety standards, regulations and HSE guidelines.

Customers from a broad range of industries trust us with their machine guarding, knowing that our design engineers can custom-design fixed guards that meet the safety standards, support high productivity, are maintenance-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

Choice of materials

Thanks to our in-house cutting, forming and fabricating facilities we can process any material that might be specified or incorporated into any bespoke fixed machine guard design, including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, polycarbonate, wire mesh and specialist sound-deadening materials.

The advantage of this flexibility is that our designers are not restricted in the types of material they can specify, so customers benefit from a truly optimised bespoke guarding design. Each material will be selected to provide the safest option and to withstand the likely impact it will receive in its usage and to endure prolonged use.

Mild steel guards can be painted or epoxy polyester powder coated in the customer’s choice of colour.

Standards and compliance

All of our fixed machine guards are designed, manufactured and finished in our 36,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art production facility in South Wales, giving us complete control over quality and deliveries.

Each guard complies with all relevant standards, including BS EN ISO 14120 and BS EN ISO 13857. Where appropriate, the guards also comply with standards specific to the type of machinery being safeguarded.

Our ISO 9001 Quality Management System covers the design, manufacture and installation of machine guards.
